General Information
The city lies surrounded by mountains on 3 sides in a picturesque valley in the east part of the Bükk mountains. Lillafüred is one of the nicest resorts in Hungary, 10 kilometres from Miskolc. Its climate is especially mild gentle.
The castle built in neo-renaissance style between 1927 and 1930 is surrounded by a hanging garden and a large park. The view to Szinva Stream and Hámori Lake is made even more magnificent by the murmur of the Szinva Stream waterfall in the immediate neighbourhood of the hotel.
Since the 1st September 2009 the hotel has a 4 star degree.
In frames of the complete reconstruction of the hotel, that started in May 2009, the rooms were fully reconstructed in a style fitting to the building. All the rooms have a modern and comfortable bathroom. Our suites, which have either a fireplace or a jakuzzi, provide accommodation on a luxury quality. All the rooms have Wifi Internet, taht can be used free of charge.
There are three restaurants and two bars in the hotel. Mathias restaurant, decorated with lead glass offers renaissance dinner and music and also the specialities of 9 former Hungarian cities (now in Transilvania and Slovakia). Our guests can enjoy an ample choice of dishes, beverages and music at Hunyadi restaurant. Nagy Lajos small restaurant has an intimate character for 15-20 persons.
Besides the reconstruction of the rooms, the wellness center of the hotel also got bigger and got many new services since May 2009. We offer many kinds of services providing a full and active relaxation: conditioning room, finnish sauna, steam bath, jakuzzi, 10-metres swimming pool, and in the new "quiet wellness" area we provide services for our guests over 14 years of age with an adventure pool, a sauna with outside diving pool and salt chamber.
As extra services we aoffer many kinds of massages (refreshing, aromatherapic and lava stone massage), and in the basement 2 bowling alleys and 2 billiard tables. There is a brasserie and a bar offering a wide range of different beverages for 30 persons by the billiard and bowling saloon.
Our guests longing for activities, we provide opportunity for hiring bicycles or nordic walking equipment.
